When working with Thermic Lance in demanding industrial environments, performance is only as strong as the equipment that supports it. To cut efficiently and safely—whether you're demolishing refractory materials, opening tap holes, or cutting scrap—it’s essential to assemble the right kit.
At Anaya Steel, we recognize that many operations are familiar with Thermic Lance technology; however, not all are aware of the crucial accessories that ensure it functions properly. Below, we outline the must-have components every team should include alongside their Thermic Lance for reliable and effective performance.
At the core of every Thermic Lance system is a reliable oxygen source. An oxygen cylinder supplies the consistent, high-pressure oxygen flow necessary to maintain the intense combustion that powers the cutting action.
Pro Tip:
Always verify oxygen purity and cylinder pressure before each use to maintain cutting speed and safety.
Monitoring pressure is critical for safe and effective operation. A pressure gauge ensures your lance is operating within optimal parameters—usually between 8 to 12 bar—allowing for a steady flow of oxygen and protecting against under- or over-pressure situations.
The oxygen hose delivers the oxygen from the cylinder to the lance. It must be heat-resistant, leak-free, and compliant with industrial safety standards. Inadequate hoses are a common point of failure and risk—always inspect before use.
This simple yet vital component enables operators to control the oxygen flow entering the lance. Accurate adjustment results in improved cutting precision, enhanced fuel efficiency, and cleaner outcomes.
The lance holder provides both safety and comfort. It secures the Thermic Lance during operation, keeping hands away from extreme heat and reducing fatigue. At Anaya Steel, we include a durable, high-temperature lance holder with each Thermic Lance order to support safe, continuous operation.

To initiate the cutting process, an ignition source is required. While various tools can be used, Anaya Steel recommends using an acetylene torch, which provides a reliable, high-temperature ignition ideal for industrial applications.
High-heat cutting demands a full PPE setup, including:
• Heat-resistant gloves
• Safety goggles or a full face shield
• Fire-resistant jacket and pants
• Industrial boots
• Hearing protection (as needed)
Don’t forget to have a fire extinguisher and first aid kit within reach at all times.

Our standard Thermic Lance Kit includes:
• Thermic Lance pipes (Type T or Type W)
• Heavy-duty Lance Holder
All other accessories—oxygen cylinders, hoses, gauges, ignition sources, and PPE—should be sourced from certified industrial equipment suppliers or welding supply vendors.
If you’re unsure where to get these items or how to integrate them, our team is here to help.

Success in Thermic Lance cutting largely depends on proper preparation. A powerful tool is only effective when supported by the right components. With the appropriate accessories in place—and a strong commitment to safety—your team can handle even the most demanding demolition or cutting tasks with confidence.
